Ecocraft was commissioned by a gentleman planning to age in place to reimagine his 1980s residence as a bold, modern home that celebrates color, art, and personal expression. A discerning and design-savvy homeowner, he envisioned a space that reflected both his years in New York and Los Angeles—blending East Coast sophistication with West Coast ease.
The result is a transformative, full-scale remodel that redefined the home from the inside out. Architectural enhancements played a role in elevating the design. The entry and office ceilings were raised to 14-foot vaults, enhancing light, volume, and spatial presence. In the office, the existing bay window was expanded and reconfigured with oversized windows to flood the space with light, complemented by strategically placed skylights. A new metal roof, seamlessly integrated with asphalt shingles, pairs durability with refined detailing, while cultured stone siding adds depth and texture to the exterior.
Inside, custom cabinetry anchors the kitchen, powder room, and primary bathroom, each designed to balance functionality with sculptural impact. Curated wall coverings introduce visual richness and artistic flair, while a newly created laundry room—tucked discreetly off the pantry—enhances everyday efficiency. New windows in the kitchen and primary suite further strengthen the connection to light and landscape.
The living space is grounded by a sleek linear fireplace with an inset television, flanked by motorized shades and a fearless, sophisticated color palette. Every material and finish was selected with intention, resulting in a home that is both deeply personal and uncompromisingly refined.
